Obituary for Charles Edward Maggard

Charles Edward Maggard, 73, of Louisville, KY, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018. He was born December 9, 1944 in Krypton, KY, the son of Wallace and Lydia (Campbell) Maggard. Charles was a Regional Manager for Flowers Baking Company for many years. He was a devoted husband of 53 years, a supportive father, and an adoring grandfather. He enjoyed gardening, cooking special meals and treats for his family, watching UK basketball and creating woodcrafts. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Patsy Quiggins Maggard; his children, Charles “Chase” Maggard, II (Beth), Tabitha Hochscheid (Craig) and Anthony Todd Maggard (Phyllis); four grandchildren, Jacob, Brittany, Ashley and Joshua Maggard; one great-grandchild; his siblings, Joe and Jess Maggard and Judy Howard; a sister-in-law, Winn Minium (Jim); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-laws, Jeanie Roller and Mable Maggard A service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. A memorial service will take place on Sunday August 26, 2018 at the Krypton Brethern Church; 146 Brook Drive Krypton, Ky. Burial will take place in Maggard Family Cemetery in Gays Creek, KY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Diabetes Association
