Obituary for Patty Sue Watts

Patty Sue (Morgan) Watts was born on October 12, 1934. Patty departed this world for her heavenly home on October 24, 2017. She is preceded by her husband Harry Watts Sr., her parents Ruble and Gladys Morgan, one sister Jean Fugate, and one brother AD Morgan. Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her three children Sandy (Ted) Henry, Harry Watts Jr, and Tricia Watts (Jim Nobbe), and her eight grandchildren - Lauren (Andrew) Engle, Cage Watts, Hope Watts, Chloe Watts, and Macey Watts, Crystal Hall, Ashley (Pino) Pitocco, and Zachary Hall. One sister, Dotty Nevels and one brother Butch Morgan, as well as a host of other family and friends.

Patty was first and foremost a woman of God. She served God with all of her heart, mind and soul. Patty was a virtuous woman who spent countless hours visiting the sick, elderly and homebound. She opened her arms to the poor and extended her hands to the needy. She taught Sunday School for over 30 years, drove the church bus and led hundreds of people to salvation. She was “mother” to many more than then 3 gave birth to, accepting anyone who needed love and acceptance. Many women do notable things, but she surpassed them all.

Patty wore many hats in her life. She was an entrepreneur, graduating from the Southern Beauty College in 1963 and then opening Pat's Beauty Shoppe in Hazard. She and Harry Sr. started Watts Mobile Homes in Hazard in 1970. She worked as a photojournalist for Cycle News Magazine. She opened Morgan Manor Academy in 1976. She volunteered as one of the first PE Teachers in the Hazard City Schools. She continued to exercise and teach others about the benefits of exercise throughout her life, including the First Baptist Church Joy Club and at the Hazard Perry County Senior Center. Patty was certified in Reflexology in 1980. She liked using herbal remedies to treat illness and pain, and was known to grow comfrey in her backyard. Patty loved people, nature and animals, all of God’s creations.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Hazard - Perry County Senior Center and The Red Hat Society. She volunteered countless hours to causes dear to her heart.

She has finally heard the words that she waited so long to hear, "Well Done, My Good and Faithful Servant".

In lieu of flowers, and to honor Patty’s servant spirit, the family requests donations in her honor to the nonprofit organization of your choice. Please have notifications sent to Tricia Watts, 1125 Audubon Rd., Park Hills, KY 41011.
